UWA INTEGRATED MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS PROGRAM
The IMC program was added only months after the announcement of the marketing degree program offered by UWA’s College of Business, a valuable sister program to the IMC degree. Such a unique course of study is not offered at any other four-year institution in Alabama, and the nearest offered is nearly 200 miles from Livingston.
In addition to the College of Liberal Arts Core curriculum, coursework required for the program will include hours in communications, marketing, and behavioral science. Students will explore graphic design, marketing, advertising, web design, social media marketing, broadcasting, and other subjects essential in the integration of the fields.
Integrated Marketing Communications enhances journalism and marketing skills as they participate in real world, hands-on activities and programs through course projects, practice, and an internship. Ultimately, they will integrate learned journalism skills with marketing principles through a department-approved capstone project.
